Growing Herbs Indoors
Growing herbs indoors is actually very easy. They pretty much need the same type of care that you would give most plants. Yes, not all plants are the same, but I think you get my point :-). Whatever herbs you try to grow, try to follow the following basic steps:
Make sure that the herbs bet enough sunlight, so try putting them on the window sill. For those that have their windows facing South in the summer, put your plant in a position so that is also get' s shade now and then. Water them on a regular basis.
Your indoor herbs should always be in a warm temperature averaging 60 degrees. When you water them, make sure that the pots your herbs are in have enough drain holes to help prevent over watering so that you don't cause your herbs to get root-rot. However, don't be afraid to water them, just don't drown your herbs!
Spring and Summer is a good time to feed your herbs with fertilizer at least every two weeks or so. In winter you can lengthen the in-between feeding time to a month.
If you follow these easy steps, most of your herbs should grow up to be very healthy. It is still important to treat each herb as a different entity. By this I mean that some herbs will need slightly different caring steps than others. What I have listed above are just the basics.
Either way, I hope you have fun with your new project. Good luck with growing herbs indoors!
